FROM PROMISE
TO PROOF

Passionate about the food industry for over 40 years, co-founders Maxine and Stefano have held marketing roles for some of the biggest international food brands: NESTLE, DANONE and PANZANI for Stefano and MARS, MAISON DU CAFE and ANDROS for Maxine.

Their profound interest in products and their composition, combined with their curiosity for the conditions and methods of production, naturally led them to move upstream in the foodchain to join the agrifood group AVRIL in 2011 – respectively as Director of Strategy and Marketing Director.

"

Co-founders of Connecting Food

«We’ve gone from the marketing of promises to the marketing of proof.  It’s a virtuous movement that we want to support and that is why we founded Connecting  Food in 2016. Our ambition from the start has been to guarantee and promote quality food in a tangible and objective way, and to showcase those who produce it.”

THE CONNECTING FOOD TEAM

We are hiring !

We went from 6 employees in 2018 to 28 today! And to support our continued development, we are always looking to meet new candidates who are eager to make our food systems better.

At Connecting Food, skills come before diplomas, brains before brawn, and above all, you must be willing to adapt, learn and progress at the same pace as our company… that is, very quickly!

CONNECTING FOOD: OUR MILESTONES

2016/2017 : tHE FIRST STRATEGIC PARTNERSHIP

The first employees joined the Connecting Food adventure, with the goal of internalizing development and deploying the platform among the first customers. Juste & Vendéen was the very first milk brand to ensure total traceability for a product, from the farm to the distributor using the blockchain.

We were proud to join La Ferme Digitale, the largest AgTech association in France.

This same year, we won an innovation bid launched by Coop Italia – the largest Italian retailer – to trace their organic eggs. Connecting Food was on its way to becoming international!

2019 : Speeding up

One of our first big announcements of the year was the Connecting Food Community, which aims to bring together the pioneers of agrifood industry who are committed to transparency.  The entire value chain is represented in our community, from the upstream side such as Axereal, Prospérité Fermière, Terrena, Fermes Larrère, Terres Du Sud; as well as downstream manufacturers such as Ingredia, Socopa,  Axiane Meunerie, and even brands like Lu (Mondelez group), Herta (Nestlé group), Bionade or Juste & Vendéen.

At the International Agricultural Fair in Paris, we unveiled 10 new products that had all been scaled to the industrial level.  All of these products are now available in-store for purchase, and received a very warm welcome from consumers and industry journalists.

2020 also saw a new round of funding, even in the midst of the Covid-19 pandemic, bringing the funds raised to over 5 million euros. This was an important step that allowed the company to accelerate its technological and commercial development and to continue asserting itself as a leader in the food transparency market both in Europe and abroad.

2019 saw our pace quickly accelerating: 15 new customers chose us to ensure the end-to-end traceability of their products. Our technology was rolled out across multiple food chains. The recruitment of additional developers, sales teams and agricultural engineers supported our growth.

Internationally, we expanded to new customers in Germany, Spain, Netherlands, and partnered with Lloyds Register in the UK. We were also selected as one of the 2020 Rising Food Stars by EIT Food, giving us a wider European reach.

We made our first steps in the United States at CES in Las Vegas with the CEA, our partner for breakthrough innovations, and we gained additional exposure when Columbia University in New York selected Connecting Food to be one of the 10 blockchain companies in the world to follow.
